The Royal Purple 911 driven by David Pearson in 1974, for the first inaugural International Race of Champions (IROC), in the season finale race at Daytona International Speedway. Pearson ranked Fourth overall in the first series winning $14,600.
In the first IROC series, 15 identical RSRs were prepared. 12 were used and assigned to a different driver each race, so no adjustments could be made to the cars besides adjusting the seat. The remaining 3 were practice or spare cars.
